Ever been told you're too young to think about careers?

I beg to differ. Social science says our patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving are in place by the time we're 3 to 5 years old.

Yup.

We just don't always notice those patterns. That's where YES! comes in. It's a tool for self-discovery. Your student watches short videos and answers questions online about four areas: personality, interests, skills, and values. Then we meet to celebrate what makes them who they are and talk about where to start exploring.

What's included

  • The YES! assessment, taken online at home
  • One 2-hour meeting with me, in person in the Twin Cities or on Zoom
  • A parent or another adult who knows your student well, right there with us
  • A walk through your student's report, and what makes their design their own
  • Activities, school subjects, and volunteer roles to try, matched to how they're built
  • All of this for $125

Want more time together afterward? You can add it by the hour.

A few questions I get

How is YES! different from Career Direct?

YES! is built for middle schoolers. It's shorter, it's one meeting, and it points toward activities, school subjects, and volunteer roles. Career Direct is for students 15 and up, with two meetings, and it points toward careers and majors.

Can we do Career Direct later?

Yup. YES! is a great start, and Career Direct builds on it once your student is 15 or older.

Does my student need to prepare?

Nope. Just answer honestly. There are no right answers.

Why does a parent come to the meeting?

You've watched your student longer than anyone. You see things they can't, and they know things you don't. Put those together and you both see more clearly.

In person or online?

Either one. In person around the Twin Cities, or on Zoom from anywhere.

Choose Your Own Adventure. No, really.
